3000% Faster & Safer: Robot Deliveries Take Over Koreatown!
Dr. Ali Kashani, CEO of Serve Robotics, announced the expansion of the company’s delivery operations into Koreatown, Los Angeles, during an interview with Steve Darling from Proactive.
This move aligns with Serve’s long-term strategy to extend its geographic reach within Los Angeles and across the United States. Koreatown was chosen due to its bustling commercial center, growing residential community, and well-maintained sidewalks, which are ideal for robotic delivery.
This expansion follows ongoing collaboration with the Los Angeles city government and local stakeholders. To prepare for scaling up its fleet, Serve Robotics has signed an expanded supply agreement with Ouster, Inc.
This deal will equip 2,000 next-generation robots with advanced lidar sensors, essential for the robots’ autonomy. Lidar technology enables the robots to perceive their surroundings, determine their precise location, and safely navigate alongside pedestrians and other sidewalk users.
Faster, safer, cheaper robot deliveries
Serve Robotics expects that integrating the new sensors will enhance the safety, speed, and cost-efficiency of its fleet.
This strategic expansion and technological upgrade underscore Serve’s dedication to advancing its autonomous delivery services, addressing the increasing need for efficient and sustainable delivery solutions.
