Upon being notified of the passenger’s condition, the pilot contacted air traffic control and landed at Jaipur’s Sanganer International Airport around 8:30 am.

The flight had departed Delhi at 7:28 am as scheduled. Shortly after takeoff, at approximately 8:00 am, a passenger began suffering a panic attack. Initial investigations indicated that the passenger may have had a pre-existing mental health condition. The individual was taken to a private hospital for treatment upon arrival in Jaipur, and the flight resumed its journey about an hour later, reaching Hyderabad roughly two hours behind schedule.

In a separate incident, a passenger on Etihad Airlines flight EY-366 from Abu Dhabi to Jaipur caused a disturbance, arguing with flight staff for nearly an hour before ultimately apologizing in writing. The airline chose not to file charges against the passenger.

Earlier that week, on Tuesday, an IndiGo flight carrying 183 passengers from Kolkata to Jaipur made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport due to a bomb threat. The pilot coordinated with air traffic control to land the aircraft safely.

This diversion comes a day after major Indian airlines faced threats affecting over 80 flights, though revised protocols now handle mass threats from a single source as non-specific, reducing the need for widespread diversions. “We confirm that on October 24, 2024, several Vistara flights received security threats via social media. Authorities were notified immediately, and we are following all necessary security protocols,” a Vistara spokesperson stated, reaffirming their commitment to passenger, crew, and aircraft safety.
