The written examination for the direct recruitment of 60,244 constable civil police posts will take place on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, 2024. The initial exam was canceled due to allegations of rigging.
The Uttar Pradesh government had canceled the UP Police constable recruitment exam for these posts in February 2024 following a paper leak. At that time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured that the exam would be rescheduled within six months. Preparations are now complete for the re-examination, with enhanced multi-layered security measures in place to prevent any malpractices.
UP Police exam tightens security
Before conducting the re-examination, the Police Recruitment Board thoroughly assessed the security measures. They checked whether CCTV cameras covered the treasury doors and entire corridor, and evaluated the types of DVRs and hard disks used in the cameras. Additionally, they inquired about the policemen stationed at the treasury, the duty roster of security personnel, the log book, and fire safety protocols. Multiple security checks were conducted to prevent any lapses during the board examination.
The Recruitment Board also requested reports from District Captains detailing the number of entry and exit points and windows in the treasury. After receiving these reports, the Recruitment Board proceeded with the necessary actions.
