Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited and Tata Motors Limited have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish 200 fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in key metropolitan areas such as Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. This partnership is set to enhance India’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by creating a network of rapid chargers to support the expanding fleet of electric CVs.

This initiative expands the ongoing collaboration between the two Tata Group companies, aiming to provide convenient and dependable charging solutions for small electric commercial vehicles (CVs). Tata Motors’ electric CV owners will have access to special charging rates, which are anticipated to reduce operating expenses and enhance profitability. Alongside the 200 new stations, Tata Power’s EV charging network is projected to grow to nearly 1,000 fast chargers across the country.

Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head – SCV & PU at Tata Motors, underscored the strategic value of the initiative, stating, “We are excited to enhance our collaboration with Tata Power to revolutionize the electric commercial vehicle sector by ensuring easy access to fast chargers at convenient locations nationwide.” Pathak also highlighted Tata Motors’ commitment to building an ecosystem that encourages the adoption of emission-free electric vehicles.

Tata Power, Tata Motors expand EV ecosystem

Tata Power has significantly expanded its EV charging network, known as EZ Charge, which now features over 100,000 home chargers, 5,500 public and semi-public charging points, and 1,100 bus charging stations across 530 cities. These chargers are strategically located in convenient spots such as highways, malls, hotels, hospitals, and residential areas, facilitating the swift growth of electric mobility in India.

Tata Motors currently offers the Ace EV, one of India’s leading small electric commercial vehicles. Supported by more than 150 Electric Vehicle Service Centres nationwide, the Ace EV boasts advanced battery management and telematics systems designed to enhance vehicle performance and road safety.
