Taiwan News : Taiwan experiences another significant earthquake within a month, without causing any damage.
Taiwan News : On Monday, Taiwan’s meteorological administration reported a 5.5-magnitude earthquake hitting the eastern county of Hualien, with no immediate reports of damage. The quake caused buildings in Taipei, the capital, to shake. The depth of the earthquake was recorded at 10 km (6.2 mi). Earlier this month, Hualien experienced a devastating magnitude 7.2 earthquake, resulting in at least 14 casualties. Since then, Taiwan has been experiencing numerous aftershocks.
Taiwan News : Taiwan, positioned close to the convergence of two tectonic plates, faces a significant risk of earthquakes. In 2016, a seismic event in southern Taiwan claimed over 100 lives, while a magnitude 7.3 quake in 1999 resulted in more than 2,000 casualties. On April 3, an earthquake struck Hualien city, causing four deaths and injuring over 700 people, with 132 of them sustaining serious injuries, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS) on Twitter. This event occurred in Hualien County, near its central area.
