Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore (SRI-B) has been awarded the “Innovation Excellence Award” by the Government of Karnataka at the Global Investors Meet – Invest Karnataka 2025. In 2024, 780 inventors at SRI-B filed patents, with 260 being first-time inventors. Among the patents were 180 Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), including 100 related to 5G technology.

Over the past three years, SRI-B has filed more than 3,000 patents globally. The institute is India’s top private-sector patent filer.
