Former US President Donald Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt on Saturday at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The shooter fired multiple shots, injuring Trump’s right ear, just days before he was scheduled to accept the Republican Party’s nomination for the upcoming presidential election in November.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump. Crooks positioned himself on the roof of a nearby manufacturing factory, approximately 130 yards away from the stage at the Butler Farm Show grounds where the campaign event was taking place.

He fired shots that injured Trump’s ear before being neutralized by Secret Service snipers. Crooks was found with an AR-style weapon at the scene and was pronounced dead by authorities. The motive behind the assassination attempt remains under investigation, with no clear reasons yet determined.
