Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Leaks Reveal Game-Changing Slim Design & Bigger Displays!

The latest CAD renders of Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, have surfaced online, revealing two significant design upgrades. According to the leaked images shared by Android Headlines, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is set to be thinner than ever and will feature larger displays, both internally and externally.

In comparison to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which has 6.4-inch and 7.6-inch displays, the new model is expected to boast an 8.2-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch outer display. The device will also be noticeably slimmer, measuring just 4.5mm when unfolded—1.1mm thinner than the previous generation. When folded, it is expected to be around 9.5mm thick, including the camera bump, or closer to 9mm without it. While this makes it slimmer than Samsung’s earlier foldable phones, it still falls slightly behind competitors like the Oppo Find N5 (4.2mm) and the Honor Magic V3 (4.4mm) in terms of thinness.

Another key improvement is the wider outer display, addressing previous criticisms about the front screen being too narrow. The Galaxy Z Fold 7’s expected dimensions of 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm suggest that the front display will be approximately 11mm wider than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 when unfolded.

Internally, the device is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the same processor found in the Galaxy S25 series. Some reports suggest Samsung might use a 7-core variant of this chip, similar to what Oppo implemented in the Find N5, to improve thermal efficiency. While there have been rumors about an Exynos 2500 variant for select markets, Samsung’s continued collaboration with Qualcomm makes this seem unlikely.

Battery capacity is expected to remain at 4,400mAh, similar to previous models, but improvements in efficiency from the new chipset could result in better overall battery performance.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to feature a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a significant upgrade from its predecessors. Additionally, it may include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera on the outer display. The under-display camera on the inner screen is expected to remain at 4 megapixels, though it remains unclear if Samsung has enhanced its quality.

Samsung typically unveils its foldable devices around mid-July. However, with the Galaxy S25 series launching slightly later this year, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, along with the Z Flip 7, could also see a delayed release.

Beyond the design and display upgrades, Samsung is also expected to refine the hinge mechanism on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new hinge design could improve durability while allowing for a smoother, more seamless folding experience. Samsung has been consistently working on reducing the crease in its foldable displays, and while it remains unclear whether the Z Fold 7 will see a major improvement in this area, many are hoping for a less visible crease compared to previous models.

Another important aspect of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is its build quality. While Samsung has maintained a focus on premium materials, there are speculations that the device could incorporate a lighter yet stronger frame, possibly using titanium instead of aluminum, similar to what Apple did with the iPhone 15 Pro series. This would not only enhance durability but also help reduce overall weight, making the foldable more comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.

In terms of software, the Z Fold 7 is expected to launch with One UI 6.1.1 or One UI 7, based on Android 15. Samsung continues to optimize its foldable experience, improving multitasking features like app continuity, enhanced taskbar functionality, and better S Pen integration. The company could also introduce AI-driven enhancements, possibly leveraging Galaxy AI features similar to those found in the S25 series.

As the official announcement approaches, more details regarding pricing and availability are expected to emerge. If Samsung follows its usual timeline, pre-orders could open soon after the launch event, with the device hitting shelves by late July or early August.
