PM-KISAN 18th installment today

Today (October 5), the government is set to announce the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Under this initiative, more than 9.5 crore small and marginal farmers across India will receive a direct cash transfer of Rs 2,000 each, totaling Rs 20,000 crore.

This direct benefit transfer represents the third installment of 2024 and plays a crucial role in supporting the agricultural sector by providing financial aid to farmers with land holdings of up to two hectares. The last installment was issued on June 18, benefiting over 9.25 crore farmers who also received Rs 2,000.

Launched in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to support small and marginal farmers by providing them with annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000, which is disbursed in three equal installments.

To do this, they must visit the nearest center with their Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked to their Aadhaar for authentication. A convenience fee of Rs 15 is applicable for this service.

Farmers can also complete eKYC using facial recognition through the PM-KISAN mobile app. After downloading the app and logging in with their registered mobile number, they can use the Aadhaar Face RD app to scan their face and finish the process.
