Phoenix Marketcity Pune: Fire Engulfs Material Yard at Jharkhand Power Plant
There was a fire at Phoenix Mall and firefighters responded quickly. Six fire trucks were sent to the scene.

A big fire ripped through the Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar, Pune this afternoon. Firefighters jumped into action and sent at least 6 fire trucks to control the blaze according to a Pune Fire Department spokesperson.

Phoenix Marketcity, Pune’s largest shopping and entertainment destination, boasts a massive variety of stores under one roof. In a separate incident, a major fire erupted on Friday afternoon at the NTPC’s North Karanpura super thermal power plant located in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. The fire was reportedly first noticed around 2 pm.
A fire broke out in an area storing materials for Unit 3 of a large coal-fired power plant. Luckily, there haven’t been any reports of injuries so far. Firefighters are currently battling the blaze. This power plant, with a capacity of 660 megawatts per unit (and likely three units total), is part of NTPC, India’s biggest company for generating electricity.
