This 31-year-old’s knock wasn’t just impressive, it was historic! With just one 19-run hit, Rizwan became the world’s fastest batsman to score 3,000 T20 runs. Thanks in part to Rizwan’s heroics, Pakistan chased down New Zealand’s modest target of 91 runs with just 3 wickets down in a mere 12.1 overs.

While some established T20 players like Aaron Finch (98 innings), Martin Guptill (101 innings), David Warner (102 innings), Rohit Sharma (108 innings), and Paul Stirling (113 innings) have also surpassed 3,000 runs, Mohammad Rizwan achieved this milestone in a significantly shorter time – just 79 innings. This underlines Rizwan’s exceptional scoring pace in T20 Internationals.

While Rizwan’s record-breaking speed is impressive, it’s important to note he’s the eighth batsman to reach the 3,000 run mark in T20 Internationals. The current king of T20 runs is still Virat Kohli, who sits comfortably at the top with a whopping 4,037 runs scored in 117 matches.

While Rizwan’s achievement of 3,000 T20I runs is impressive, there are other milestones to consider. The record for fastest 1,000 runs still belongs to Dawid Malan, who achieved it in a staggering 24 innings. Babar Azam follows closely at 2nd with 26 innings.

Interestingly, both Rizwan and Babar Azam share the record for reaching 2,000 T20I runs the quickest, achieving it in just 52 innings. Virat Kohli sits in third place for reaching 2,000 runs, having done so in 56 innings.
