Mahindra has officially unveiled the Thar five-door, now named the Thar Roxx, which is set to launch in India on August 15. This expanded version of the lifestyle SUV will compete directly with the Force Gurkha five-door. In terms of design, the Thar Roxx features circular LED DRLs, projector headlamps, round fog lights, a new multi-slat grille, and fender-mounted ORVMs. It also comes with dual-tone alloy wheels, black front door handles, a front camera, body-colored rear door handles on the C-pillar, square LED taillights, and faux skid plates.

Although Mahindra has not yet disclosed the interior details of the 2024 Thar Roxx, it is anticipated to feature a panoramic sunroof (single-pane for mid-spec variants), a larger touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, an ADAS suite, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and automatic climate control, among other amenities.

The Thar Roxx is expected to be powered by 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines, paired with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. In addition to its traditional competitor, the Force Gurkha five-door, the Thar Roxx will also face competition from the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.

He emphasized that while the ‘Thar ROXX‘ maintains the core attributes of the iconic Thar, it embodies a larger-than-life rockstar persona and aims to make a significant impact in the SUV market.
