Mahindra dealerships are currently providing test drives to potential customers, with deliveries set to begin shortly after, coinciding with Dusshera 2024.
The starting price for the Mahindra Thar Roxx is ₹12.99 lakh, reaching up to ₹22.49 lakh for the top-tier variant. The 4×4 option will be available exclusively for the diesel engine trims, while both petrol and diesel models will also feature rear-wheel drive (RWD) options.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: The Ultimate Off-Road Adventure Mahindra has recently launched a new Mocha interior trim option for the Thar Roxx, available exclusively to buyers of the 4X4 variants starting from the MX5 trim. Customers can select from both interior options when placing their orders. There will be no additional cost for the dark interior, but it will come with a longer wait time. Deliveries of the Thar Roxx featuring the Mocha Brown interior are expected to begin at the end of January 2025.

It features two drivetrain options—4X2 and 4X4—and provides two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Customers can choose between two engines: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.
The petrol engine produces 175 bhp of maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque. It is available only with rear-wheel drive and comes with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol variant has four options: MX1, MX5, MX3, and AX7 L, with the MX5 being the only trim offering both transmission choices. The official ARAI-certified fuel efficiency for the petrol engine is 12.4 kmpl.

There are seven diesel variants available: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3 L, AX5 L, and AX7 L. The diesel engine is claimed to offer a fuel efficiency of 15.2 kmpl; however, it’s important to note that these are theoretical figures, and actual real-world fuel economy may be lower. Interestingly, the 3-door Thar also features the same fuel efficiency ratings.
