In Lucknow, dry and hot winds coupled with clear skies resulted in a significant rise in maximum temperatures. They reached 42°C, exceeding normal levels by 2.5 degrees. The minimum temperature also climbed to 23.4°C, which is 0.3 degrees above normal.
Looking ahead, Saturday’s forecast anticipates clear skies transitioning to partly cloudy conditions in the evening.
Uttar Pradesh Endures Heatwave

Clear skies prevailed in Lucknow on Friday, contributing to the scorching temperatures. While Saturday may bring partly cloudy conditions in the evening, forecast highs of 42°C and lows of 25°C suggest the heatwave will persist.
Meanwhile, Prayagraj emerged as the state’s hottest city on Friday, recording a maximum temperature of 44.2°C. This reading narrowly missed the dubious honor of being the national high, which was observed in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, at 44.6°C.
Uttar Pradesh Bakes Under Relentless Heatwave
Lucknow Weather : Major cities across Uttar Pradesh sweltered on Friday as a scorching heatwave intensified. Agra topped the charts with a high of 43.4°C, closely followed by Varanasi at 43.1°C. Other cities like Basti, Bahraich, Sultanpur (including you!), Rae Bareli, Hamirpur, Kanpur, Ballia, and Gorakhpur also witnessed scorching temperatures ranging from 43°C to 42°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, there’s no respite in sight for the next five days. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal, accompanied by dry, hot, and gusty winds blowing in from Rajasthan at speeds of 25-35 kilometers per hour.
