The farmer and laborers were busy uprooting peanuts in the village fields when the weather suddenly changed, bringing a strong storm and rain. Amidst the rain and intense lightning, two dozen laborers seeking shelter were struck by lightning. The lightning directly hit the laborers, resulting in two fatalities—a woman and a man—while about two dozen others were injured.
The injured were transported to Chhapara Hospital for treatment. Upon receiving the information, the police department and revenue staff arrived at the hospital to assess the situation and check on the injured.
