Kia India has introduced its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, priced at ₹1.3 crore (ex-showroom). Offered in a single, fully-loaded GT-Line variant, the EV9 is equipped with a 99.8kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Together, the motors produce 384 bhp and 700 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The EV9 boasts an ARAI-certified range of 561 km on a full charge, and with a 350kW DC fast charger, it can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes.

The Kia EV9 is packed with impressive features, showcasing a dual-tone Brown and Black interior and a 6-seat configuration. It includes electrically adjustable captain seats in the second row, complete with leg support and a massage function. The SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system offering wireless smartphone connectivity, along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Additional highlights of the Kia EV9 include a head-up display (HUD), three-zone climate control, dual electric sunroofs, and a 14-speaker Meridian sound system. It also features Kia Connect, six USB Type-C ports, roof-mounted AC vents for the second and third rows, and a four-spoke leatherette steering wheel.

The Kia EV9 is equipped with 20 standard safety features, which include 10 airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), downhill brake control, brake assist, vehicle stability management, and all-wheel disc brakes, among others. Furthermore, it includes a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite with 27 autonomous features, a 360-degree camera, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and a blind-view monitor.

The Kia EV9 measures 5015 mm in length, 1780 mm in height (including roof rails), and 1980 mm in width, enhancing its road presence and making it larger than the Toyota Fortuner, which is 4795 mm long, 1855 mm wide, and 1835 mm high.

It competes with the Mercedes EQS, priced at ₹1.62 crore, the Audi Q8 e-tron, which ranges from ₹1.15 crore to ₹1.27 crore, and the BMW iX, priced at ₹1.40 crore.
