Additionally, Ladakh’s harsh weather conditions limited construction work to a short period between April and October, as heavy snowfall blocks roads for much of the year. To address this, laborers from Jharkhand and Bihar were brought in during this period to complete the work on time.

Today, even when Kargil’s villages are buried under snow, residents have access to running water. This marks a significant achievement and an important step forward in improving everyday life in one of the world’s most challenging climates.
