Jammu and Kashmir Experiences Continued Seismic Activity

In recent days, Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing a series of earthquakes. One such event occurred on May 1, where a midnight tremor shook Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, registering 3.4 on the Richter scale.

According to the National Seismology Centre, the earthquake struck at 1:33 am on Wednesday night. However, despite its intensity, there were no reports of damage or casualties resulting from the earthquake.

 

J&K Earthquakes Cause Concern

On April 19, Kargil and Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir experienced tremors from an earthquake. The seismic event, measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, occurred in the morning hours.

The recurrence of earthquakes in the region has sparked anxiety among residents. Additionally, on the night of April 18, Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir felt tremors measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale.
