JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal Leads Rupauli Assembly By-Election by 2,433 Votes
In the by-election for the Rupauli Assembly seat in Bihar’s Purnea district on July 13, JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal is leading with a margin of 2,433 votes over an independent candidate, according to the Election Commission of India.
After the first round of counting, Mandal secured 6,588 votes, while independent candidate Shankar Singh received 4,155 votes. RJD’s Bima Bharti is in third place with 2,359 votes after the initial round of counting. The by-election was held due to the resignation of Bima Bharti, who had previously won the seat for JD(U) but resigned to contest the Lok Sabha election on an RJD ticket.
In the by-election for Bihar’s Rupauli Assembly seat, JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal is currently ahead by 2,433 votes over an independent candidate after the initial counting round. The seat was vacated by Bima Bharti, who resigned from JD(U) to contest unsuccessfully for the Lok Sabha on an RJD ticket before re-entering the fray in this assembly by-election.
