Apple is gearing up for its first major product launch of the year on February 19, as confirmed by CEO Tim Cook in a post on X (formerly Twitter). His message, “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family,” accompanied by an animated Apple logo, has fueled speculation about what’s to come. While Apple hasn’t officially disclosed details, rumors suggest that the highly anticipated iPhone SE 4 will take center stage, alongside potential updates to the MacBook Air, iPad lineup, and even the Vision Pro headset.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to undergo a major redesign, moving away from its previous look to adopt a more modern aesthetic similar to the iPhone 14. Leaks indicate a flat-frame design with a glossy glass back, the removal of the Home button in favor of Face ID housed within a notch, and a shift to a USB-C port, replacing the Lightning connector. Internally, it may feature either the A18 chip or the A17 Pro chip, paired with 8GB of RAM and a base storage of 128GB. Given its hardware, the device is also expected to support Apple Intelligence features, bringing AI-powered capabilities to a more affordable iPhone.

Beyond the iPhone SE 4, Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil a new MacBook Air powered by the M4 chip. The refreshed model is expected to include 16GB of RAM as standard, bringing it in line with recent MacBook upgrades. While the design is unlikely to change significantly, the M4 chip should offer improved performance, better power efficiency, and enhanced AI capabilities. There is also speculation that Apple may introduce a new color option for the MacBook Air, but no major chassis redesigns are expected.

Apple may also introduce updates to its iPad lineup, with the iPad Air potentially receiving the M3 chip, while the entry-level iPad could be equipped with either the A16 or A17 Pro chip. However, no major design overhauls are anticipated. Some sources suggest that Apple could introduce a new size option for the iPad Air, possibly a larger 12.9-inch version to complement the existing model.

The event teaser, featuring a circular Apple logo, has led to speculation about a possible second-generation AirTag. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has dismissed this theory, noting that Apple is unlikely to highlight a $29 accessory during a high-profile launch. While an updated AirTag is reportedly in development, featuring a more secure speaker and improved Ultra Wideband chip, it’s not expected until mid-2025.

In addition, Apple might announce new software features for the Vision Pro headset, including potential support for PlayStation VR2 controllers to enhance the gaming experience. This move could help Apple address the lack of dedicated handheld controls for the Vision Pro, making it more versatile for gaming applications.

Another possibility is a preview of a new Apple smart home hub, described as a HomePod with a display. Expected to launch later in 2025, this device could include a 6-inch or 7-inch screen, the A18 chip, and support for Apple Intelligence, making it a central hub for smart home management, FaceTime calls, and other everyday tasks. Some reports suggest that Apple may also introduce new HomePod speakers with improved Siri integration, focusing on AI-driven smart home experiences.

With so many potential announcements, Apple’s February 19 event is shaping up to be one of its most exciting launches of the year. While the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be the star of the show, the introduction of M4-powered Macs, refreshed iPads, Vision Pro updates, and smart home innovations could make this event one to watch closely.
