Apple offers trade-in for iPhone 16.

The new iPhone 16 series, which includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, has officially launched in India. Apple’s trade-in program lets customers exchange their older iPhones for credits toward a new iPhone 16, potentially offering substantial discounts. The amount of credit depends on the model and condition of the device being traded.

Starting at Rs 79,900 for the base 128GB iPhone 16, this trade-in option is available both online and in Apple Stores. Devices as old as the iPhone 12 are eligible for trade-ins, and if a phone isn’t eligible for credit, Apple will recycle it at no cost.

Apple trade-in offers vary by iPhone model.

iPhone 15 owners, who originally purchased the device at Rs 79,900 but can now find it for Rs 69,900, may receive up to Rs 37,900 in trade-in credit from Apple, depending on factors like storage capacity and battery health. For those with an iPhone 14, Apple offers up to Rs 32,100 in credit toward a new iPhone 16. The iPhone 14 is still being sold, starting at Rs 59,900.

If you own an iPhone 13, which is now discontinued, Apple provides up to Rs 31,000 in trade-in credit, while iPhone 12 users can get up to Rs 20,800 for their trade-in.

iPhone 16 launch sees strong demand in India.

On Friday, when the iPhone 16 models launched in India, Apple saw up to 25% higher sales compared to the iPhone 15 launch last year, with quick commerce platforms also joining the mix. Large crowds gathered at the flagship Apple stores in Delhi and Mumbai, with strong demand for the higher-priced Pro models.

Despite heavy rain, around 400-500 people lined up outside the Mumbai store, while in Delhi, 200-300 people were already in line when the store opened at 8 am, and the queues continued throughout the day.

In a notable shift, quick-commerce platforms like Blinkit and BB Now partnered with Apple retailers like Unicorn to offer near-instant doorstep delivery of the iPhone 16, transforming how high-end tech products are sold and delivered.
