IBM acquiring Accelalpha for Oracle expertise

IBM announced its plans to acquire Accelalpha, a prominent global Oracle services provider. This move will enhance IBM’s consulting capabilities in areas such as supply chain, logistics, finance, enterprise performance management, and customer transformation.

Accelalpha, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, is renowned for its expertise in Oracle Cloud Applications, offering advisory, implementation, and managed services across various regions including North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.

The firm has a strong focus on sectors like distribution, industrial services, and financial services. Notable for its large Oracle logistics practice and pioneering implementation of Oracle Fusion Financials, Accelalpha has grown through both organic development and acquisitions, including Prolog Partners, Key Performance Ideas, LogistiChange, and Frontera Consulting.

Kelly Chambliss, Senior Vice President of IBM Consulting, Americas, emphasized that this acquisition will enhance IBM’s ability to support clients in deploying and managing Oracle solutions, including those involving generative AI and cloud technology, for a competitive edge.

Nat Ganesh, CEO of Accelalpha, stated that IBM’s global reach and client-focused culture align perfectly with the company’s growth objectives. He expressed enthusiasm about combining Accelalpha’s Oracle Cloud expertise with IBM’s capabilities in generative AI and hybrid cloud. The acquisition is anticipated to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
