Hubli News: Suspected classmate in brutal on-campus murder
Neha Hiremath, the daughter of Congress Corporator Niranjan Hiremath, passed away due to the injuries from multiple stab wounds inflicted by her senior.
A terrible crime took place on Thursday at a college in Hubballi, Karnataka. A 24-year-old student, Neha Hiremath, was stabbed to death on campus. Neha, the daughter of a local politician, was attacked by a masked assailant who waited for her outside the college. The attacker fled the scene after the stabbing but was soon arrested by police. The suspect, identified as Fayazz, was a senior student at the same college as Neha.

After the assault, Neha was swiftly taken to KIMS Hospital, but sadly, she passed away despite the medical team’s efforts to save her. Congress leaders, including MLA Prasad Abbayya, went to the hospital to offer their condolences to Neha’s grieving family.
Neha, a first-year MCA student at BVB, had reportedly been harassed by the perpetrator for several months. He had recently proposed to her, but she rejected him. Enraged by her refusal, the perpetrator had been planning to harm Neha.
According to the police, he had even told his friends that he intended to harm the girl who turned down his advances.
The police have arrested the suspect in the murder and are continuing their investigation. They believe it may be a case of rejection, where the accused felt compelled to violence. To learn more about the motive, they’re talking to the victim’s friends and family. The local student wing of a political party plans a protest demanding harsh punishment for the accused.
