Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged the Central government to allocate ₹700 crore for water augmentation projects and an additional ₹300 crore for the decennial exposition of St. Francis Xavier’s relics, set to take place later this year. The relics of St. Francis Xavier, housed at the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa near Panaji, will be on display during the exposition, which is scheduled to run from November 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

This globally attended event is held once every ten years, attracting thousands of pilgrims, tourists, and dignitaries from around the world.
