Despite concerns over immigration processes, inbound international flights continued to land at Lahore airport without diversion. Passengers affected by the incident were evacuated from the immigration lounge due to smoke, prompting operations to temporarily shift to the domestic lounge, as per confirmation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to Aaj News.

Moreover, the fire resulted in delays to numerous Hajj and international flights. The CAA provided reassurance that international flight operations were ongoing from the domestic departure lounge, accommodating both Hajj and international flights through domestic facilities.

 

Pakistan Announces 2024 Hajj Flight Schedule

The Pakistani Ministry of Religious Affairs announced its plan to commence the Hajj 2024 flight operation on May 9, lasting until June 9, as reported by The News International.

Initially, 11 special flights were scheduled to transport a total of 2,160 Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

These flights aimed to accommodate passengers from various cities, with Lahore contributing 670 passengers through three flights, Karachi 330 passengers through two flights, Islamabad 680 passengers through three flights, Multan 329 passengers through two flights, and Sialkot 151 passengers through a single flight.
