Elon Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok 3: The ‘Smartest AI on Earth’ Set to Revolutionize Search and Research!
xAI, founded by Elon Musk, has unveiled Grok 3, which Musk claims is the “smartest AI on Earth” and significantly more advanced than its predecessor. A key feature, DeepSearch, promises to save users “hundreds of hours of Google time” by offering fast, extensive research in just minutes. Grok 3 also outperforms rivals like DeepSeek v3 and GPT-4o in some benchmarks. xAI’s mission includes exploring the universe and challenging politically correct views. Grok 3 is available to X Premium+ subscribers for £17.50/month, with a new SuperGrok tier offering even more features. Grok 2, launched in December 2024, is free with limited functionality. xAI employs over 900 AI tutors to refine its models.

Elon Musk’s xAI Unveils Grok 3: The ‘Smartest AI on Earth’ Set to Revolutionize Search and Research!
Elon Musk’s tech company, xAI, has introduced Grok 3, a next-generation AI model that Musk describes as “the smartest AI on Earth,” claiming it is an “order of magnitude” more advanced than its predecessor, Grok 2. Musk and his team at xAI showcased the new model in a 45-minute presentation streamed on his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
One of the key features of Grok 3 is its new capability, DeepSearch, which is billed as a “next-generation search engine.” xAI claims that DeepSearch can significantly streamline online research, saving users what could be “hundreds of hours of Google time.” According to Musk, tasks that would typically take 30 to 60 minutes to research on the web can now be completed in just 10 minutes with Grok 3, offering a much faster and more comprehensive search process than traditional methods.
During the presentation, xAI’s team demonstrated Grok 3’s potential by asking it to create a video game that combines elements of popular games like Tetris and Bejeweled. This exercise helped illustrate Grok 3’s advanced creative and problem-solving capabilities. Additionally, the AI’s performance in benchmark tests was compared to that of competitors, including DeepSeek v3 and OpenAI’s GPT-4o. In certain areas, Grok 3 was shown to outperform these rivals, further solidifying its position as a leading AI model.
Musk also shared xAI’s overarching mission for its AI development. The company’s goal is to better understand the nature of the universe, the potential existence of extraterrestrial life, and the meaning of life itself. Musk emphasized that xAI aims to challenge prevailing societal norms and politically correct views, positioning the company as a force for innovation and thought leadership in the AI space.
xAI was founded in July 2023 with a small team of just 12 employees, including Musk himself. The company has grown rapidly since then, employing over 900 “AI tutors” who help refine its generative AI models. These tutors are human experts in various fields who contribute to improving Grok’s capabilities. Despite Musk’s well-known opposition to remote work, xAI offers fully remote positions with competitive pay, ranging from $35 to $65 per hour for roles like “legal specialists,” which are important for refining the AI’s ability to interpret legal documents and cases.
Grok 3 is currently available to users who subscribe to the X Premium+ tier, which costs £17.50 per month. The Premium+ tier offers access to Grok 3’s advanced features and improved functionality. Additionally, xAI has introduced a new subscription level called SuperGrok, which provides users with access to even newer features and removes some of the usage limits that apply to other tiers. However, pricing for SuperGrok has not yet been disclosed.
In contrast, Grok 2, which was made available for free in December 2024, comes with limitations. Free users are restricted to sending only 10 messages every two hours and can only perform three image analysis actions per day. Despite these restrictions, Grok 2 has been a step in xAI’s ongoing efforts to compete with AI leaders like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Grok 3, with its more advanced features, is seen as the company’s next major leap forward, bringing it closer to its goal of becoming a major player in the AI space.
With its ambitious mission and new AI model, xAI aims to compete with the giants of AI technology while providing users with a more efficient, powerful, and user-friendly AI experience.
