Delhi Airport CHAOS: Hundreds of Flights Grounded After Terminal Collapse (TravelNightmare)
Following the collapse of the forecourt roof at Terminal One of Indira Gandhi International Airport, all flight operations there were temporarily halted. In response, Indigo and Spice Jet Airlines cancelled all their flights from Terminal One, causing panic among passengers scheduled to fly from that terminal.
In a reassuring development, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the airport’s operating body, has decided to relocate all flights from Terminal One to Terminals Two and Three. Indigo and Spice Jet Airlines have been instructed to expedite the necessary arrangements at these terminals and resume operations. It is anticipated that all flights from Terminal One will be moved to Terminal Two by 2 PM.
Indigo Flights Moved After Terminal Closure
A senior official from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) stated that Indigo Airlines flights previously operating from Terminal One have been relocated to Terminals Two and Three. Passengers will soon receive information detailing which Indigo flights will depart from each terminal.
To handle the increased passenger load, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been directed to deploy additional personnel at both terminals. According to DIAL, Indigo flights that were scheduled to arrive at Terminal One will now land at Terminals Two and Three until further arrangements are made.
SpiceJet Flights to Terminal 3
A senior official from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) reported that SpiceJet Airlines flights are being moved to Terminal 3 as an emergency measure. Until Terminal 1 is back to normal, all SpiceJet arrivals and departures will operate exclusively from Terminal 3.
