Chromebooks with 10-Hour Battery? Business Just Got Mobile

Acer unveils powerful laptops with long battery life: TravelMate P series boasts AI, Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, and up to 14-hour battery. Business Chromebooks get a refresh: Chromebook Plus offers Intel Core 7 CPUs, 10-hour battery, and military-grade durability.

Acer has unveiled its latest lineup of laptops ahead of Computex 2024. Among them are new TravelMate laptops featuring AI capabilities and Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with Intel vPro Enterprise branding, as well as Chromebook Plus Spin models equipped with up to Intel Core 7 CPUs and MIL-STD 810H certification.

While availability outside North America and EMEA markets is yet to be confirmed, the pricing for these models starts from $949 for the TravelMate P4 14, reaching up to $1,429 for the TravelMate P6 14. The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 starts at $549, with prices going up to $749 for the Chromebook Plus Enterprise Spin 514. North American sales are slated for July and August, with EMEA customers gaining access by Q3 2024.

Most of Acer’s TravelMate P series laptops feature Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with Intel graphics, offering up to 64GB of RAM. The exception is the TravelMate P4 14, which comes with AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 8840U processors and AMD Radeon 780M graphics.

Display-wise, the Acer TravelMate P6 14 and TravelMate P4 Spin 14 boast a 14-inch WQXGA OLED screen and a 14-inch WUXGA IPS screen, respectively. Meanwhile, the TravelMate P4 14 and TravelMate P4 16 offer 14-inch and 16-inch IPS displays with WUXGA resolution.

These laptops are equipped with up to 65Wh batteries, promising up to 14 hours of usage on a single charge. They support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and come with various ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 2.0 port. Storage options include support for up to 1GB of NVMe storage.

The business-oriented Acer Chromebook Plus models come with Intel Core 7 processors and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 and Chromebook Plus Enterprise Spin 514 offer up to 128GB of NVMe storage, while the Chromebook Plus Enterprise 515 provides up to 512GB of NVMe storage. The Spin 514 and Enterprise Spin 514 feature a 14-inch WUXGA IPS screen, while the Enterprise 515 model boasts a 15.6-inch full HD IPS display.

The Chromebook Plus series offers connectivity through Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. They feature two USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, and an HDMI 1.4 port. Acer claims that all three models are powered by a 53Wh battery, providing up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
