Apple has launched the Apple TV app for Android smartphones and tablets via the Google Play Store, allowing users to stream Apple TV+ content natively. The app offers features like offline downloads, watchlists, and cross-device syncing, though Google Cast support is currently missing. In India, Apple TV+ is available for Rs 99 per month with 4K HDR, spatial audio, and family sharing for up to five users.

Apple TV+ is now accessible on Android smartphones and tablets through the Apple TV app, marking a major expansion for the streaming service. Previously, Android users had to rely on web browsers or third-party platforms to watch Apple TV+ content. With the app now available on the Google Play Store, users can stream popular shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, and The Morning Show directly on their devices.

Android users will enjoy features similar to those on iOS, including offline downloads, watchlists, and the “continue watching” option. However, Google Cast support is currently unavailable, though it may be introduced in a future update.

In India, Apple TV+ is priced at Rs 99 per month with a seven-day trial, offering 4K HDR quality and spatial audio. The service remains a cost-effective alternative to platforms like Netflix and Prime Video, especially for high-resolution content, and supports sharing with up to five family members.

Apple has officially rolled out its TV app for Android devices via the Google Play Store, making Apple TV+ content available to a wider audience. With this expansion, the Apple TV app is now compatible across major platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, Xbox, PlayStation, and smart TVs running Android TV OS, Tizen OS, webOS, and Fire OS.

Apple states that the Android version of the TV app has been designed from scratch to deliver an experience comparable to its iOS counterpart. Users can seamlessly continue watching across multiple devices and have the option to stream or download content over Wi-Fi or mobile data.

A subscription to Apple TV+ provides access to an extensive library of original films and series, including Severance, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, Silo, Wolves, The Instigators, and The Family Plan. Additionally, users can subscribe to the MLS Season Pass to stream live Major League Soccer matches from the 2025 season.

For Indian subscribers, Apple TV+ remains an affordable choice at Rs 99 per month, with family sharing for up to five users. It is also included in the Apple One subscription bundle, available for Rs 199 per month. The platform supports up to 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on select titles.
