AMD has confirmed that the new Ryzen CPUs will launch next month but hasn’t specified an exact date. Retailers, however, provide some clues. For example, B&H has listed the Ryzen 9000 series for ‘preorder’ starting on July 31, though this might be a hard release date since AMD mentioned a July launch. This implies the desktop update could be set for the end of the month. Additionally, BestBuy lists a new ASUS laptop with the Ryzen AI 300 CPU, scheduled to launch on July 15, indicating it will be available two weeks before the desktop CPUs.

AMD Ryzen laptops win

The AMD Zen5 launch dates are as follows:

– Laptop: AMD Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” on July 15, 2024
– Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” on July 31, 2024

AMD has reported up to 100 design wins featuring Ryzen AI processors, with the ASUS laptop likely being among the first wave of products. While only a few designs were introduced at Computex, the rest probably include Mini-PCs and potentially handheld devices. Notably, both AMD Zen5 series will launch ahead of Intel’s next-gen client series with Lion Cove/Skymont CPU architectures, expected in Q3 for mobile and Q4 for desktop.
