However, the collaboration is subject to regulatory approvals, as SpaceX is still awaiting clearance from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Center (IN-SPACe) and the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to begin Starlink operations in India.

As part of this partnership, Airtel will integrate Starlink into its existing satellite broadband network, which already includes Eutelsat OneWeb. This move aims to expand high-speed internet access across India, helping bridge the digital divide in remote villages, schools, healthcare facilities, and businesses.
