Seamless Device Switching Now Available in Google Meet

Google Meet is enhancing its user experience with a new feature that allows for effortless call transfers between devices. This functionality streamlines workflows for professionals who frequently transition between locations and equipment.

Google Meet Makes Switching Between Devices Easy. Here’s How:

  • Initiate Call Transfer: While actively participating in a Google Meet call on your mobile device, navigate to meet.google.com on another device logged in with the same account.

  • Locate the Transfer Button: Upon joining the meeting on the new device, you’ll be presented with a button labeled “Switch Here.”

  • Transfer or Maintain Multi-Device Connection: Selecting “Switch Here” will seamlessly transfer the call to the new device, disconnecting it from your phone. However, Google Meet offers an alternative solution.

  • Maintain Simultaneous Device Connection (Optional): If your objective is to leverage the microphone, speakers, and camera of the new device while remaining connected on your phone, locate “Other joining options” within the meeting screen. This section will house the new option “Join here too,” enabling you to maintain an active connection on both devices.
