MSEDCL Amnesty Scheme: 7891 Consumers in Kalyan As many as 7,891 electricity consumers in the Kalyan and Bhandup circles, who had their power supply permanently disconnected due to unpaid dues, have regained their connections through MSEDCL’s Amnesty Scheme, an official announced on Friday.
A total of 13,848 consumers from these areas participated in the scheme, clearing outstanding dues amounting to ₹31 crore. They received a discount of 5% to 10% on principal arrears, along with a complete waiver of interest and delay charges. The scheme is open until the end of March, and officials have urged remaining eligible consumers to apply online without delay.
Under the scheme, both low and high-tension consumers—excluding public water supply and agricultural pump users—whose connections were permanently disconnected by March 2024 or earlier can benefit. Consumers who settle their principal arrears either in full or in six equal installments will have their interest and penalty charges waived entirely.

With the scheme set to conclude by the end of March, MSEDCL has urged remaining eligible consumers to apply online as soon as possible.
As per the scheme’s provisions, both low and high-tension consumers—excluding those using electricity for public water supply or agricultural pumps—whose connections were permanently disconnected by March 2024 or earlier, qualify for the benefits. Consumers who clear their principal arrears either in full or through six equal installments will have their interest and penalty charges waived entirely.
