In Q4, the Teaneck-based IT firm’s employee count dropped by 10,700 compared to the same period last year and by 3,300 from the previous quarter.

“As we move forward, we anticipate adding to our headcount in line with our growth plans throughout 2025. That is the key factor at play,” Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal stated during the Q4 earnings announcement.

The company, which follows a January-December financial year, closed the quarter with approximately 336,800 employees.

 

Attrition, Utilization, and Workforce Trends

Attrition increased by 2.1 percentage points, reaching 15.9% on a trailing twelve-month basis. This aligns with broader industry trends, as attrition rates have risen across Indian IT firms in recent quarters.

Dalal noted that the higher attrition rate reflects a stronger demand environment compared to previous quarters, and the company remains capable of meeting its hiring needs.

In contrast, India’s top five IT firms—TCS, Infosys, HCLTech, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra—reported a combined workforce reduction of 2,587 employees in Q3 FY25, largely due to seasonal factors such as furloughs and slower hiring.

However, on a nine-month basis (9M FY25), these companies added 10,412 employees, showing a cautious recovery after reducing over 57,600 jobs in the same period the previous year.
