Maruti has officially launched its new Dzire model in India, with prices starting from Rs 7.91 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Following its recent recognition as one of the country’s safest cars, the Dzire is now available in a price range between Rs 7.91 lakh and Rs 11.91 lakh. Buyers can choose from four main variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. Additionally, two CNG variants—VXi and ZXi—are offered, priced between Rs 9.83 lakh and Rs 11.07 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Bookings for the new Dzire are open with a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The updated Dzire boasts a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP, making it one of the safest choices in its class. Externally, the sedan has a refreshed design, including a larger grille and redesigned LED headlamps and taillamps, distinguishing it from the Swift. Inside, the Dzire mirrors the layout of the new-generation Swift, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree camera. Standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP.

Under the hood, the Dzire comes with a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine that delivers 82 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. A CNG option is also available, with an impressive fuel efficiency of around 33 kmpl.

Engine, Gearbox, and Mileage: The new Dzire uses the updated Z12E engine, a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder unit shared with the latest Swift, producing 82 HP and 112 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency is a highlight, with the manual version delivering 24.79 kmpl, the AMT version 25.71 kmpl, and the CNG variant 33.73 km/kg. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, with CNG trims available only in manual.

Interior: Inside, the Dzire adopts a Swift-inspired dashboard but in a lighter beige shade with textured accents. It offers similar space as the Swift, but with an enhanced boot capacity of 382 liters. New features include an electric sunroof and a 360-degree camera, adding to its comfort and functionality.

Features and Safety: The 2024 Dzire comes with a comprehensive safety suite, including ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, ESP, traction control, reverse parking sensors, and more. Additional features include a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, and more.

Colors: The Dzire is available in seven colors: Gallant Red, Nutmeg Brown, Alluring Blue, Bluish Black, Magma Grey, Arctic White, and Splendid Silver, with a new design that leans towards a European aesthetic.
