Terror Threat to India: SFJ Leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Declares War on Unity, Urges China to Seize Arunachal Pradesh

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of the banned terrorist organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), released a provocative video threatening India’s sovereignty and promoting separatist movements across multiple states, including Jammu & Kashmir and Assam. He inaccurately urged Chinese President Xi Jinping to reclaim Arunachal Pradesh, declaring, “Mission of SFJ 2024: ONE India, To 2047: NONE India.” Pannun’s rhetoric poses a significant challenge to India’s national security and reflects a broader agenda to Balkanize the Union of India.

SFJ threatens India’s unity

Terror Threat to India: SFJ Leader Gurpatwant  Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the general counsel for the banned terrorist organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and designated as a terrorist by India, has released a provocative video threatening India’s sovereignty. In the video, he outlined the SFJ’s mission with the slogan, “Mission of SFJ 2024: ONE India, To 2047: NONE India.”

Pannun specifically addressed Chinese President Xi Jinping, urging him to send the Chinese army to “take Arunachal Pradesh back,” inaccurately claiming that the region is Chinese territory. He also threatened to instigate independence movements in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland, mirroring his separatist agenda in Punjab, with the goal of “Balkanizing the Union of India.”

This rhetoric appeared to be a direct response to comments made by Canada’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, David Morrison, who reaffirmed Canada’s position on India’s territorial integrity, stating, “Canada’s policy is clear: India’s territorial integrity must be respected. There’s one India, and that’s been made very clear.” Morrison made these remarks during a public hearing of the Canadian Foreign Interference Commission, which is examining issues related to foreign interference and emphasizing Canada’s support for a unified India.

Pannun’s statements reflect his ongoing efforts to disrupt India’s unity by promoting separatist agendas beyond Punjab. The SFJ has long aimed to create an independent Khalistan, often using inflammatory rhetoric to incite unrest. His response to Morrison’s affirmation of India’s territorial integrity demonstrates a rejection of international norms regarding state sovereignty and indicates an intent to expand secessionist movements. This rhetoric poses a significant challenge to India’s national security and highlights the need for continued vigilance and international cooperation in addressing threats from extremist groups.

SFJ seeks independent Khalistan

Terror Threat to India: SFJ Leader Gurpatwant Sikhs for Justice was established in 2007 with the aim of creating ‘Khalistan,’ a separate homeland for Sikhs. In 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs prohibited the organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Subsequently, its leader, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, was designated as a terrorist.

SFJ continues threatening India

Terror Threat to India: SFJ Leader Gurpatwant  Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the general counsel of the banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and designated a terrorist by India, has released another video making threats against India’s sovereignty. In this latest message, he threatens to initiate independence movements in states beyond Punjab. Pannun states, “Mission of SFJ 2024: ONE India, To 2047: NONE India,” in response to Canadian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs David Morrison’s assertion that “Canada’s policy is very clear: India’s territorial integrity must be respected.”

SFJ seeks to Balkanize India

Terror Threat to India: SFJ Leader Gurpatwant  Morrison made those remarks during a public hearing of the Canadian Foreign Interference Commission in Ottawa earlier this month. Despite limited support within Punjab, the SFJ is conducting an unofficial global referendum on establishing a sovereign state called Khalistan.

In the video, Pannun, a U.S. lawyer residing in New York City, threatens to incite independence movements in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland, similar to his actions in Punjab, with the intent to “Balkanize the Union of India.” He specifically addresses Chinese President Xi Jinping, declaring that “now is the time to order the Chinese army to take Arunachal Pradesh back” and erroneously asserting that “Arunachal Pradesh is the territory of China.”

Pannun warns that the SFJ will continue to leverage the protection and support of Canadian and American laws to advocate for independence movements aimed at breaking apart the Union of India. Standing in front of a poster that reads “2047 None India,” he threatens that by 2047, the current borders of the Union of India will be redrawn and erased from the world map. The video concludes with a dramatic display of lightning.
