JA Solar, a leading solar company with a global presence (165 countries!), unveiled high-efficiency panels (26.5% efficiency!) and aims to be a 100GW+ manufacturing giant by 2024. JA Solar: New products, high efficiency ↑capacity

During SNEC 2024, PV Tech interviewed Steven Chen, vice president of JA Solar, about the company’s new products, shipment volumes, expansion plans, and manufacturing capacities.
Chen mentioned that JA Solar introduced several innovative products at the event, including the Deep Blue 4.0 Pro series, which now features the Advanced Bycium+ Cell with a mass production efficiency of 26.5%. Another notable product is the new single-glass anti-dust module designed for rooftops, boasting a power output of up to 650Wp and an efficiency of 23.3%. This module is lightweight, highly reliable, and easy to maintain.
As of the end of 2023, JA Solar’s module manufacturing capacity had reached 95GW, with wafer and cell capacities at about 90% of the module manufacturing capacity. Additionally, Chen highlighted that JA Solar’s n-type cell capacity had surpassed 57GW.
Global expansion, High target
In 2024, Steven Chen announced that JA Solar’s manufacturing capacity for wafers, cells, and modules will exceed 100GW.
JA Solar is expanding its presence in both established and emerging markets globally, with 13 overseas sales offices and a sales and service network covering over 165 countries and regions.
“In Europe and the US, regional operation centers have been established to support a wide range of operational functions, including technical support, delivery management, customer service, finance, legal affairs, and human resources,” Chen stated.
Chen also mentioned that the global installed solar capacity is expected to increase by about 520GW. To capitalize on market opportunities, JA Solar aims to achieve a module shipment volume of up to 95GW.

Established in 2005, JA Solar is globally renowned for its high-performance PV products. The company operates multiple manufacturing bases and has 13 global subsidiaries, engaging in silicon wafers, cells, modules, and power stations. JA Solar’s business footprint extends to 165 countries and regions worldwide. As of Q1 2024, the company had shipped a cumulative total of 201GW of modules.
