A series of coordinated attacks in southern Russia’s Republic of Dagestan resulted in the deaths of at least 15 police officers, as reported by RIA Novosti on Monday.The incidents, which also caused civilian casualties, took place on Sunday across multiple locations including two orthodox churches, a synagogue, and a traffic police post in Derbent and Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan.
According to Sergei Melikov, the head of the Republic of Dagestan, the situation is now under control. He confirmed via social media that six armed attackers were killed during the response, and law enforcement efforts are ongoing to apprehend all individuals involved in the terrorist acts.
