Aadhaar Update DEADLINE MISSED?
Aadhaar has long been one of the most crucial documents for Indians, serving as the primary identification for many. Over time, the central government has introduced numerous significant changes related to Aadhaar. One such recent change involves Aadhaar Correction and Updation. The government has periodically offered opportunities for free Aadhaar updates. Initially, this opportunity was available until June 14. However, in response to various needs, UIDAI has now revised this decision.
Aadhaar Update Free Until Sep 14
According to UIDAI, Aadhaar card holders now have until September 14 to update their information without any fees. It’s important to note that updates made through the MyAadhaar portal remain free, while a fee of Rs 50 is required for offline updates.
Updates to details such as name, address, photograph, and other information can be made at no cost on the UIDAI website’s online portal until September 14. This extension is not the first; the deadline was initially set for December 15, 2023, and was later extended to March 14, and then to June 14.
Update Aadhaar Online Free (Sept 14)
Updating Aadhaar is a straightforward process. You can update key details online, such as your address and date of birth, for free until September 14. Simply visit the website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
To change your address, select the ‘Address Update Option,’ then choose ‘Update Aadhaar Online.’ For editing your name and date of birth, click on the options provided separately. Additionally, you can update your information if there are changes in the addresses of your family members.
Link Aadhaar to Mobile First
One crucial point to remember for those planning to update their Aadhaar online is that your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number. You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your phone only if your Aadhaar and mobile number are connected. Therefore, if you have not yet linked your Aadhaar to your phone number, you should do so first.
