The brand dominates India’s luxury EV market with a 234% surge in electric vehicle sales, led by the iX1 and i7, as EVs now make up 18% of total sales. Long-wheelbase models, including the 5 Series and 3 Series, saw a 159% jump, accounting for nearly half of all deliveries. The X1 remained the top-selling premium compact SUV, while the X7 surpassed 5,000 units since launch.
MINI sales grew steadily, with the Cooper S and Countryman E leading demand. BMW Motorrad sold 2,569 bikes, with the G 310 RR and 1300 GS as top performers. The company is also revolutionizing retail with its ₹365.6 crore Retail.NEXT initiative, enhancing customer experiences across 56 showrooms. Gurugram, July 2025 – BMW Group India has set a new benchmark in the luxury automotive sector, recording its highest-ever half-yearly sales with 7,774 BMW and MINI cars delivered between January and June 2025. This marks a 10% growth over the previous year, underscoring the brand’s resilience and strategic agility in a competitive market.
Electric Mobility Takes Center Stage
BMW has solidified its dominance as India’s top luxury EV brand, with 1,322 electric vehicles sold in H1—a staggering 234% year-on-year surge. EVs now account for 18% of total sales, driven by strong demand for the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase and the flagship BMW i7.
The company’s comprehensive EV ecosystem—including fast-charging networks, complimentary Wallbox chargers, and concierge services—has eased adoption barriers, making BMW the preferred choice for premium electric mobility.
Long Wheelbase Models: The Comfort-Performance Sweet Spot
BMW’s long-wheelbase sedans and SUVs saw 159% growth, contributing to 47% of total sales. The BMW 5 Series emerged as the highest-selling sedan, while the 3 Series retained its crown in the premium segment. The BMW X7 also crossed a milestone, with over 5,000 units delivered since launch.
SUVs and Luxury Class Shine
The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) lineup grew by 17%, with the BMW X1 leading as the best-selling premium compact SUV. The BMW X5 followed closely, reinforcing the brand’s SUV stronghold.
In the ultra-luxury segment, the 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM continue to redefine opulence, with the 7 Series and i7 dominating their respective categories.
MINI and Motorrad: Niche Appeal
MINI delivered 297 units, with the Cooper S and Countryman E sharing equal popularity. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad sold 2,569 motorcycles, led by the G 310 RR in the entry segment and the 1300 GS in adventure touring.
