Putin Demotes Patrushev; Pakistan Unrest

Russian President Vladimir Putin has demoted Nikolai Patrushev, who served for 16 years as the secretary of the National Security Council, a body that convenes top officials to discuss national security issues with Putin. Patrushev, a 72-year-old influential and shadowy key ally of Putin, has been reassigned as a presidential aide responsible for shipbuilding, amidst a reshuffling of the military leadership.

In other news, Pakistan is experiencing significant unrest. Clashes have erupted in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) due to issues related to privatisation. Amid this turmoil, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has resigned as the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
