3 UPSC Aspirants Drown in Delhi Coaching Center Flood: Outrage Erupts
Three civil services aspirants tragically died after the basement of a coaching center in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar flooded due to heavy rain. UPSC aspirants held a night-long protest, demanding immediate action from authorities following the incident at Rau’s IAS Study Circle. The Delhi Fire Department responded to a call about waterlogging, reporting people trapped inside. Rescuers discovered the bodies of two female students and one male student.
According to police, heavy rains caused significant waterlogging on the road, leading to the rapid flooding of the basement, which trapped the victims. The Delhi Fire Service and NDRF rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the sudden flooding.
The rescue operation concluded early in the morning, with water levels reaching 7 feet deep. Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi ordered an inquiry into the incident, while leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of negligence for failing to address drainage issues.
